Zero Energy Reconstruction of School Facilities

Zero Energy Reconstruction of School Facilities

Project Description

This project will reconstruct 53 outdated, energy-inefficient school buildings in Serbia to a) reduce energy consumption and b) achieve approximately zero CO2 emissions by utilising renewable energy sources, applying sustainable green building principles, and embracing circular economy principles. Additionally, it will develop a concept for an information system with a relational database for the entire inventory of school buildings throughout their lifecycle. This is intended for the purpose of developing ‘Building Passports’ with comprehensive data necessary for making investment decisions.

The WBIF provides technical assistance for project preparation to develop the concept design, feasibility study, design for building permit/preliminary design, social and environmental assessment for the reconstruction of school buildings and tender documents for a digital solution for an educational building-related information system (EBRIS).
