'The WBIF is EU’s key tool to implement its Economic and Investment Plan for reform and growth in the Western Balkans. It brings about new, additional funds for investments together with new approaches designed to accelerate transformation and ultimately EU accession. By advancing the social and economic infrastructure and supporting a dynamic private sector in the region - through the WBIF - we create new market and job opportunities that bring direct benefits for citizens and business in Albania and the Western Balkans.'

Ambassador Silvio Gonzato

The WBIF has supported estimated investments of €4.7 billion in the public sector in Albania.

The WBIF contributed €333.4 million in grants to these investments, of which €330.7 million was EU IPA funding and €2.7 million was Bilateral Donor funding.
