Extension to 400 kV of Fierza Substation and New 400 kV Interconnection Albania – Kosovo

Project Description

This project aims to upgrade the Fierza substation with a new 400/220 kV phase-shift transformer and construct a new 400 kV interconnection with Kosovo. The investments include the following measures: 1) Construction of a new 400/220/110 kV substation near the Fierza substation; 2) Installation of a 400/220kV, 600 MVA phase shift transformer; 3) Identification and implementation of control, protection, monitoring, telecommunication and other measures to digitalise the Fierza substation; 4) Reconfiguration of 220 kV and 400 kV lines connecting to this substation; 5) Connection to existing interconnections 400 kV Koman – Kosova B and 220 kV Fierza – Prizren 2; 6) Connection to 110 kV transmission grid in the area; 7) Construction of a new 400 kV interconnection line between 400/220 kV Fierza substation and 400 kV Prizren 4 substation in Kosovo with ACSR 2x490/65 mm2 conductor (25 km in Albania).
